House groups are part of the DNA of our church and the vast majority of the congregation are in at least one. We have 7 groups taking place around Tameside on different days and at different times throughout each week, plus a weekly Youth bible study. Each group has its own personality and includes a variety of people and the aim is to enable deeper friendships to emerge within the larger family of our church. Typically a house group will spend time in Bible study, then in prayer, and have time for a cup of tea and chat. The studies are planned to compliment the Sunday morning service themes.
Groups sometimes arrange social events together, whether that be a weekend away, a trip to a Garden Centre, a meal in a restaurant or someone’s home, or whatever suits the interests
of the group. On other occasions a House Group will decide to accomplish a set project together such as a littler pick, running an Alpha Course, Hospital Visitation, or providing meals for someone who is house-bound. Whilst the groups are encouraged to form strong friendships of trust and support they are also reminded to nurture an outward looking attitude, always seeking to invite new people to enjoy the benefits and participate in what is happening
